Alone

Says he tried to call me but

I never have time

Says I never listen

but I don’t even try

I think back to that night

or rather those nights that I spent with those

I thought would lead me to the truth

my alone-ness finally gains

meaning

but instead I was lead to

sadness? disappointment?

yes, but inward

disappointed that I thought it

would mean more than it did
