It may taste good, but the truth is that it is bad for our health. There are many ways that soda has negative impacts on our bodies . There are many reasons why people choose to drink soda. Some reasons include that it is very tasty, can be found everywhere, easy to grab and go, it is cheap, and the list goes on. Slowly stopping to drink soda will only make it harder for yourself. You will continue to desire and crave sweet sugary flavor. Commit yourself to stopping and do it. Once you have decided to stop, keep on going and do not look back. It will be a mental battle, but you will be able to do it. However, your body is most likely addicted to soda. You will go through some withdrawals, but these withdrawals will go away after a couple of days. Stay strong! A good way to stay strong is by finding to substitute soda. There are many ways to satisfy that sweet tooth in healthy ways. For example, you can drink something like a fruit juice. Goal setting is very important. Some great goals would be no drinking soda for a week or even a month. When you reach your goal, reward yourself. It is best to do it with something rather than food. Reward yourself with a new pairs of clothes or something that you want. This will help motivate you to keep on going.

Many gas stations and restaurants have large soda cups for just a dollar. It is easy to see why so many people drink it. Having too much sugar in your diet reduces production of a brain chemical that helps us to learn, store memories and process insulin. Carbonation can cause gas, bloating, cramping, and other problems in the digestive system. Soda consumption has been linked to bone density loss. Soda increases the probability of asthma. Soda is full with high levels of acid that will corrode your teeth. If you are trying to lose weight and improving your health, getting rid of soda would be a good place to start.

There are so many benefits that come from not drinking soda. If you get rid of soda, you will avoid consuming empty calories, be thinner, be less likely to get type two diabetes, have lower blood pressure, be less likely to have asthma, and other diseases and sickness to the body. Drinking water has many health benefits and also financial benefit. What are the benefits of drinking water? There are a lot of benefits. According to studies, up to 60% of the human adult body is water. The brain and heart are composed of 73% water, and the lungs are about 83% water. The skin contains 64% water, muscles and kidneys are 79%, and the bones consist of 31% water. Hopefully that helps put into perspective the importance of water! Water helps flush out toxins, improve your complexion, maintain regularity, boost immune system, prevent headaches, cramps and sprains. Based off a survey, a group of working Americans were asked if they drink enough water. About 77% of people said that they do not always drink enough. Only 23% of the people said that they always drink enough. Experts say that even mild dehydration can negatively impact us at work or school. Researchers show that drinking water can improve our productivity, mood, memory, energy level, and clarity. Now to the question, how can drinking water over soda have a financial benefit? Water is very accessible and most of the time it is free. While soda is not all that expensive, even if you just spend one dollar a day on soda for a year, that is 365 dollars that you could have saved or spent on something nice. According to Time magazine, the average household spends about $850 per year on soda alone. Each year, that’s more and more money that goes into feeding your body in an unhealthy way. There are many other great and fun ways that you could spend your money.

Some people may argue that they cannot overcome their soda addiction, but that is just an excuse. You can do it! It really depends on how much you want and care about protecting yourself and families from harm. Many people know the harm and negative effects that soda can have on their body, but they chose not to care. Everything is all fun, until someone if affected by one of the negative outcomes from drinking too much soda. It is a sad reality. Chose to live a healthier lifestyle be drinking more water and less soda. If you feel like it is impossible to stop drinking soda, start by switching out one soda per day for a bottle of water. You will feel a positive change in your daily life.

In conclusion, drinking too much soda can have many negative effects on your body. Even diet sodas have negative effects. There are so much evidence that supports the claim that we need to drink more water and less soda. After learning all of these interesting facts, I have a strong desire to never drink soda ever again!
