Standing in the Dark

What does darkness mean? It means invisibility. Invisible means it must be invincible. And what is invincible, surely has to be fearful. So, to sum it up: Darkness is Fear. It is still.

Remember the famous dialogue from Batman where Liam Neeson tells Bruce Wayne, ”Men fear most what they cannot see.” It kind off stands true for most of our fears like fear of death, pain and fear of the future.

So the question is not much of how do I find light but how do I navigate through dark. We are always driven by desire and caught by fear. We see darkness in finding the right path for us. We have a calling but the path appears dark. This is what drives us to seek light.

From a personal experience, we feel surrounded by darkness in two cases:

1) You haven’t spotted light (in this case your goal) and hence you’re stuck

2) You have built a lot of obstacles around your source of light i.e your goal. Scientifically speaking, light only falls on an object that blocks it. And unfortunately that object is not you but your preconceived beliefs and ideas.

Coming back to my reference of Batman, who could be our best guides to thrive in darkness but bats. Bats are the creatures of the dark. Take wisdom from them. Become one with darkness. Focus, use your senses. Sense the terrain, the sounds and the smells. Find obstacles and change your path like they do.

Yes, the key to master darkness is movement. Movement is energy and coincidentally light is nothing but particles in motion. And when you would have succeeded in separating yourself and your obstacles, who knows, light might fall on you and you would have discovered your source of light.
