A FROSTY STORY — BEST DOG EVER

Today in my daily devotional (Jesus Calling) I have this written down:

In the past Hubs and I have rescued all of our pets.

I don’t say that to pat myself on the back but why would anyone not want to rescue?

In 2012, after our previous German shepherd mix had died at home one night, I said “NO MORE DOGS”.

So, one day she and I got into my car, and she said:

Now this particular friend and I hadn’t discussed spiritual things much, but I knew that she was raised Catholic, and she loved animals. I agreed with her that prayer would help us and so she grabbed my hand and she prayed:

We drove over to Inland Valley Humane Society in Pomona, California to see what we would see. In the past I had always just “saved” whatever animal needed saving that a “friend” might know about. I had no discernment. I never prayed and asked for His help in this. And because of that we have had some real doozies.

I don’t regret any of them…well, maybe one (Popcorn). But all the dogs we had were outdoor dogs and held down the fort while we were gone. This was long before the Coyote population in our area began to grow and become such an issue with smaller dogs, etc.

That day she and I saw many cute dogs and I told her that I wanted one that DID NOT BARK!!!

This particular Dog pound is right behind a Sherriff gun practice shooting range and most of the dogs were barking…except for one.

He was small and white and so darn cute. His quietness drew me to him and his eyes said, “take me home”.

Unfortunately, he had been placed on “hold” for a family to make their decision.

She and I left and discussed all the dogs on the way home that day. I felt something different because she had prayed. I knew that He would…
