Joe Biden made it very clear last month to the nearly 100 million Americans not vaccinated, “We’ve been patient, but our patience is wearing thin, and your refusal has cost all of us,” he says with his usual, “get off my lawn” snarl that he does so well. Biden’s executive order was supposed to compel vaccine requirements for the millions of Americans not yet vaccinated but was met by some resistance.
States including New York, California, Rhode Island, and Connecticut have implemented vaccine mandates for health care workers; these same workers who are being demanded to leave if they do not get vaccinated are the same ones who have sacrificed their lives and not to mention the lives of their families during the pandemic last year.
Now, fast forward eighteen months from then, presently, these same workers who were celebrated and adorned for their tenacity and bravery —are now facing termination of their jobs. Their well-being is no concern of the countless faces they helped to protect and provide care for.
